Slicks, Brochures, Postcards, Stickers and Cards

Below is a collection of images that represent my time at Medical Science Products. I was asked to produce a large amount of marketing materials for the company as expressed in the title of this post. There was much more to be sure but I don't quite feel like posting an endless slew of medical propaganda. It's kind of boring. It should be noted that all the images used (outside of one or two) I photographed. That may not sound like a hugely important detail but I can assure you that putting together a photo shoot every time a new product comes down the pike makes for a lot of work. Anyways please flip through the collection and let me know what you think in the comments! Thanks!

"Conditions Commonly Treated w/ TENS" code card. This showcases some of the more technical work I've done. Again, not terribly exciting but I like the margins and layout anyways.

Back side of the card.

Marketing slick for some of the new products we brought on.

Back side.

Marketing slick for disposable electrodes.

Sticker I made for the consignment units. I really enjoyed making the stylized icons of each product. Also you'll notice the line that separates the top from the bottom portion of the sticker (that's where the edge of the box sits) is actually text rather than a dotted line. Pretty cool right?!

Solo image of above.

This was a tri-fold brochure I made to replace the previous "Chronic Pain Brochure" they had in circulation. I had some great ideas/concepts for the brochure but ended up settling on this. I like a few elements of it, specifically this side of the brochure. In retrospect I wish I could have really stretched my legs and made what I had in mind.

This, by far, is the lesser of the two sides. Ugh. I'm not sure if you've ever heard the expression "A camel is a horse designed by committee," but boy does that ring true when I look at this image. I think camels get a bad rap by the way but that's a different story. The front panel was designed to look like the front panel of the old brochure designed 30 years previous. Not that I dislike vintage but we could have done so much better.

Back side of a postcard designed to alert the patients of the new IVR system we had installed.

Front side of aforementioned postcard. Anthropomorphic animal = instant design success. Words to live by.

Slick for the Mini-TENS.

Full Color Prototype for the MSP-TENS Quick Start Guide. A longer explanation coming upon the final version.

Final version of the Quick Start Guide. I labored over this for an endless number of hours. Because of the importance of this guide the entire company got to weigh in on each individual detail. That made for a huge amount of extra work because of the back and forth between all the parties involved. We ended up with what you see here. A 2-color guide that outlines everything you need to know in order to operate a TENS unit. I photographed each individual slide and then made a line drawing replica of it. I believe that made it much easier to understand and visualize the process when reading it. While it's not my favorite type of work i did enjoy doing something more technical and precise. Nice change of pace. The best part of this project was knowing that I helped a whole bunch of people better understand the operation of their TENS unit.

Same instructions, different unit.

More slicks.

Slicks.....

...one more

...and another

Template for the slicks. The concept is sound but I liked a few of the other prototypes more.

Had a bit of free reign with this one. A basic "how-to" in the style of school work. The pen and highlighter touches were fun to toy around with.

slicks

and again

again again

another one

Last one. I had to put together a lot of the copy seen in these slicks as well. Projects like this force you to work on writing skills. Learned a lot. Glad I'm done.
