MSP TENS Tutorial Video

I wanted to get this video up on my portfolio to showcase some of the work I've done in the past regarding video production. This particular instructional was/is included with every TENS unit shipped by Medical Science Products, Inc. Considering MSP fills hundreds of prescriptions each month, this is easily my most viewed piece. I'd like to think we helped a few people better understand the device they were given. Enjoy!

Godzilla!

Had to post my profile pic considering Godzilla is set to hit theaters May 16. I'm the guy on the left in case you're having trouble telling us apart...

Me and Big G

The original photo. She's one lucky lady.

The other original photo. This was taken in the National Key Deer Refuge in Big Pine Key. Deer are surprisingly elusive, who knew?

Tie My Bow Slick

I put this one together for my beautiful wife Eileen DePasquale! It's just a simple slick for her to hand out at trade shows. She's since put the company on hold because of our baby girl that's on the way. Can't wait!

Collage of products made up for her slick!

J Lamby Logo

I made this one for my figurative nephew Johnathan Lombardi. He goes by J Lamby when he's not around the rents because he's cool like that. To celebrate his epic coolness I put together a logo for him. There's Lebowski over-tones to be sure. Because of course, you can't get any cooler than "The Dude", or "El Duderino" if you're not into that whole brevity thing.

I expect a huge financial reward for this very original work once he's super famous. If you'd like your own logo you can leave a comment and I'll promptly get back to you!

A collection of independent images regarding the logo.

Actual logo.

Glacier Rub Product Label

I've been working on a label for this product for quite some time. Here's the newest set.

Least favorite of the 3 types. Missing something.

Love this one. Don't mind the iStock overlay on the orange. Should this be the label they decide to go with I will happily purchase the image. This label coincides with the label below. The idea was that they would offer different scents of Glacier Rub.

This and the label above are easily my favorite. I really like the peppermint background behind the mountain. It makes for a more appealing introduction to the ingredients within the bottle. As I'm sure you and every other consumer knows, you're more likely to enjoy a product if it's contained within an attractive, visually descriptive package. I believe this represents that ideal the best.

A close second. Not a huge fan of the font but it does make for a decidedly brash appeal.

Dion Waiters Wallpaper

Just foolin' around. I like Dion. Therefore I made a wallpaper, 'nuff said.

Rule of thirds. I think that makes for an interesting composition. Now the Cavs just have to figure out how to win.

Slicks, Brochures, Postcards, Stickers and Cards

Below is a collection of images that represent my time at Medical Science Products. I was asked to produce a large amount of marketing materials for the company as expressed in the title of this post. There was much more to be sure but I don't quite feel like posting an endless slew of medical propaganda. It's kind of boring. It should be noted that all the images used (outside of one or two) I photographed. That may not sound like a hugely important detail but I can assure you that putting together a photo shoot every time a new product comes down the pike makes for a lot of work. Anyways please flip through the collection and let me know what you think in the comments! Thanks!

"Conditions Commonly Treated w/ TENS" code card. This showcases some of the more technical work I've done. Again, not terribly exciting but I like the margins and layout anyways.

Back side of the card.

Marketing slick for some of the new products we brought on.

Back side.

Marketing slick for disposable electrodes.

Sticker I made for the consignment units. I really enjoyed making the stylized icons of each product. Also you'll notice the line that separates the top from the bottom portion of the sticker (that's where the edge of the box sits) is actually text rather than a dotted line. Pretty cool right?!

Solo image of above.

This was a tri-fold brochure I made to replace the previous "Chronic Pain Brochure" they had in circulation. I had some great ideas/concepts for the brochure but ended up settling on this. I like a few elements of it, specifically this side of the brochure. In retrospect I wish I could have really stretched my legs and made what I had in mind.

This, by far, is the lesser of the two sides. Ugh. I'm not sure if you've ever heard the expression "A camel is a horse designed by committee," but boy does that ring true when I look at this image. I think camels get a bad rap by the way but that's a different story. The front panel was designed to look like the front panel of the old brochure designed 30 years previous. Not that I dislike vintage but we could have done so much better.

Back side of a postcard designed to alert the patients of the new IVR system we had installed.

Front side of aforementioned postcard. Anthropomorphic animal = instant design success. Words to live by.

Slick for the Mini-TENS.

MSP Digital TENS

MSP-LSO

MSP-TENS

Full Color Prototype for the MSP-TENS Quick Start Guide. A longer explanation coming upon the final version.

Final version of the Quick Start Guide. I labored over this for an endless number of hours. Because of the importance of this guide the entire company got to weigh in on each individual detail. That made for a huge amount of extra work because of the back and forth between all the parties involved. We ended up with what you see here. A 2-color guide that outlines everything you need to know in order to operate a TENS unit. I photographed each individual slide and then made a line drawing replica of it. I believe that made it much easier to understand and visualize the process when reading it. While it's not my favorite type of work i did enjoy doing something more technical and precise. Nice change of pace. The best part of this project was knowing that I helped a whole bunch of people better understand the operation of their TENS unit.

Same instructions, different unit.

More slicks.

Slicks.....

...one more

...and another

Template for the slicks. The concept is sound but I liked a few of the other prototypes more.

Had a bit of free reign with this one. A basic "how-to" in the style of school work. The pen and highlighter touches were fun to toy around with.

slicks

and again

again again

another one

Last one. I had to put together a lot of the copy seen in these slicks as well. Projects like this force you to work on writing skills. Learned a lot. Glad I'm done.

Website Upgrades/Optimization

Here's a few upgrades to www.ishoparia.com to help increase sales.

The Add to Cart button we were sporting previously blended in with the background a bit. Changing it to a brighter color with the shopping cart graphic makes this a much more noticeable and inviting button to click!
I changed the background of the site to give it a more defined center panel. Previous to that it was just plain white all the way across the page. I had been toying around with a geometric vortex design for awhile and finally settled on this one. The screenshot layer was taken to give you an idea of what it would look like upon upload. Of course you could always just visit www.ishoparia.com to see it live.

When you put in as much work as I did to make an image of a cardboard box from scratch you look to incorporate it in your work as often as possible. This is a "bug" that sits on the top navigation bar making the customers aware of the free shipping that's available on orders over $100.

Home Page Slides for Aria, LTD.

Next up is a selection of the home page slides made available for www.ishoparia.com.
Love this one! Took a few product photos and an overlay of pool water to turn in the message of "Shop Aquatics!"

Clean and concise. Tried to focus on the rule of thirds for this one.

I really like the Fitness & Exercise stamp created for this one.

I totally made that box from scratch! It probably wasn't necessary as I could have just as easily pulled some clip art but I wanted a challenge. Happy with how it turned out.

Love the font on this one.

Love the concept but could have used a bit more work. I may revisit this one later.

Loud is the first word that comes to mind. I still like the pink/yellow combo.

My first attempt at a slide. Nothing to write home about. I think my work has progressed since this point.
